Global Financial Education Program Highlights

GFEP Awarded Citi Foundation Grant

Citi Foundation awarded Microfinance Opportunities $500,000 at the end of 2008 to expand financial education beyond microfinance institutions and explore alternative delivery channels such as games, radio shows or poster campaigns. Microfinance Opportunities will also use an innovative impact assessment tool, Financial Diaries, to determine trends in the financial behaviors of clients who receive financial education compared with those who do not. Early stages of collaboration with the Citi Foundation focused on curriculum development and global dissemination of the Global Financial Education Program.
